It is Niche product, since the area where olive trees are cultivated are very small. However, oil produced in this area is characterized by excellent quality. It is produced through the traditional system: collection entirely by hand and squeezing with cold machine.
Thanks to olives of this land combined to knowledge, professionalism and great work of local producers (for example the Oil Mill “V. Agape di Sassocorvaro), there are many certificates, prizes, national and international awards obtained by this oil. The festival of the so-called “Bruschetta” is dedicated to oil. It is celebrated every year (14 August) in Montenerone, an old medieval village of Sestino.
