MERCATINO CONCA

DESCRIPTION

Mercatino Conca is in the middle of the valley of the homonymous river. Officially it raised in 1508, when Guidubaldo I di Montefeltro (Duke of Urbino) issued a decree through he allowed the Community of Grimano Mountain to take weekly markets (on Friday) and fairs for God Friday in the square of this village. For this reason at the beginning of the 17th century it was called “Mercatino” (Small market).  Nowadays in the village there are modern buildings, and only a few ruins remain of the past. It is characterized by a long five-arched bridges that crosses the river.

MONUMENTS - ARTWORKS - TOWNS AND VILLAGES

In addition to the old town (which is very nice), there is the very old parish Church with many artworks by local artists. Recently the village was renovated, however, there are still some parts of fortifications that testify the past.

NATURE AND LANDSCAPE

It is the ideal place for bike lovers, since there are many white old roads. Besides, it is possible to go for long walking to discover surrounding nature. It is possible to reach San Marino in 10 minutes by car and in less than 30 minutes by riding bike.
